By Bill Hull on Wednesday, May 2, 2001 - 02:54 pm: A genealogy of the Sharp/Sharpe family is being prepared, and this includes the majority of people by these names in St. Lawrence County over the last 200 years. I now have 136 pages in the outline. John Sharp settled in Waddington (Madrid) about 1798. Peter Sharp and brothers-in-law Peter Henion and George Hillman were in Lisbon in 1800. Philip Sharp settled in Massena by 1810. Jacob Sharp came to Oswegatchie/Morristown area in mid-1820s. These are all descendants of Anna Barbara (Mathess) Scherp, who came from Laubenheim, Germany, in 1740s and settled in the Hudson valley. I also have some information on other Sharp/Sharpe families that may or may not be related to the above. Bill Hull |

Hello Bill. I have been doing some looking into the sharp families once again. We have a common ancestor in Philip and Elizabeth Sharpe. I believe we are descended from Otto (Hof) Sherp and his first wife. Is this true. If so do you have Otto's first wife's name. |

Hello fellow Sharp researchers, I am getting back to the Sharp family too. I guess we can say we have been poked Sharp(ly).;) I too am a descendant of Philip and Elizabeth Sharp. I am willing to catch up with the mainstream again. Especially with Bill Hull. Please contact me via email. Thank you, Virginia Kysh |
