I am actually looking for history on the ramie side of the family. I am just getting started and you appear to have alot of info back to the mid 1800,s. The name alphonse was one that my father had mentioned in the past. Any diagrams or info you would be willing to share is appreciated. |

I am searching for family information especially on my greatgrandmother Zoe Bellefeuille (d. June 30, 1875, buried Notre Dame, Ogdensburg). She married Alphonse Remy on May 25, 1869 at Notre Dame. Alphonse was born April 1847 in St. Polycarpe, Quebec, the son of Francois Xavier Remy and Aurelie Leveque and died April 14, 1911 in Ogdensburg. He was employed at Skillings, Whitneys and Barnes Lumber Co. for 45 years and was a Republican Alderman, Fourth Ward, from 1897 to 1901. Zoe appears to have been his second wife of three. Church records indicate that he married Adele Montreuil, (Montroy d. April 15, 1868 in Ogdensburg) daughter of John Montreuil and Adelaide Sauve, at Notre Dame on Dec 31, 1866. He married Emlie LeClerc (?LeClair b. April 1857, d. after 1911) May 6,1876 at Notre Dame. I am researching on behalf of my dad Francis Ramie, age 88, who grew up in Ogdensburg and has many wonderful stories about "The Burg". Thanks in advance for any help or information. |
