George DURGIN b. Jan 25, 1812, Boscawen, NH; d. April 1874 Cleveland, OH. and Louisa MEAD b. Sept 8, 1816 in Montpelier, VT; d. Oct. 10,1884 in Cleveland, OH. were my gggrandparents. Evidently they were in Ogdensburg, NY on March 2, 1838 becasue that is where my ggrandfather was born. I am trying to trace where the family lived and moved between birth, marriage and death. I do not have a marriage date for George and Julia. Julia's maternal roots are definitely in VT but I have not earlier info on George. Any help would be appreciated. |

I used to work with a George Durgin Jr. in the early '80's as a Rep in the Netherlands. George worked at the time for a Florida based company "polyplastex" (decorative laminates for aircraft interiors) and lived in Pinellas County, FL. George is/was married. Perhaps you could trace him and asked him or his relatives for more information. Good luck! |

JeanEileen, Sorry I did not see your post earlier. George Durgin, Jr. was my husband's ggrandfather. His grandmother was Katherine Langdon Durgin. We have a lot of information on the family, including letters written during the Civil War, and information gathered by George Durgin's daughter, Elizabeth Meade Durgin, sister of Katherine. |

Hello from George Arthur Durgin, Jr. originally from California. My father has done our family research and he can be reached at gdurginsr@sbcglobal.net. Maybe he can help. George |
